When in a plumbing water emergency, time is of the essence. Follow these tips to minimize damage to your home:

  1. Ensure a trusted plumbing service is on their way. Call 843-884-9444 for Atlantic Plumbing Services Licensed Plumbers.

  2. Emergency Types:

Water Overflowing Shut off water to the immediate area if possible. If necessary, go to your home’s main water shut off and turn off the water. The main valve is typically in the garage area or you may need to use your water meter as your main shut off.

Toilet Overflowing Take the lid off the top of the toilet tank and push the flapper down to stop more water from entering the toilet bowl. Then, turn off the water supply behind and at the bottom of the toilet by turning the lever clockwise. Once water is no longer able to enter the toilet, utilize a plunger to remove the clog.

Water Heater Not Working If you sense something is wrong with your water heater, it is critical to contact Atlantic Plumbing Services and turn off you water heater to minimize damage. Turn off the electricity or gas to the water heater. If you have an electric water heater, switch the circuit breaker to the OFF position. If you have a gas water heater, find gas valve and turn it off.
